Simple Definition of “Respect”

: a feeling or understanding that someone or something is important, serious, etc., and should be treated in an appropriate way.

- Ask permission of those in authority
- Allow others to speak without interruption
- Be the first to say good morning, with a smile.
- Say “please,” or “may I” when asking for something
- Do a kind deed without expecting a reward or recognition
